I just finished this sad but interesting novel written by Irish Prime Minister's daughter, Cecilia Ahern. It is all about a young woman's struggle to move on with her life after the loss of her dear husband (best friend and soulmate) to cancer. Oh, before the husband died, he left her 10 envelopes (one, to be opened every month when he's gone). The contents of the envelopes were supposed to help her get back on her feet and continue living her life without him and they did help her to a certain extent. However, I personally thought that they made it even harder for her to let go knowing that she had lost someone so thoughtful and romantic...
Many who have read the book would probably be annoyed with the fact that the grieving wife was just taking too long to get over the loss but for me, I so could totally imagine myself in her shoes, dealing with all those memories, sadness and despair. Thus, I cried more than ten times and constantly had tears in my eyes in the process of reaching the end which, took me less than two days...(thanks to my pms, my sensitivity level was just waayy up there).
Overall, it is a lovely book. Creatively written. It's sad and funny at the same time. Higly recommended. Thanks Serena, I'm definitely going to read more of her books.
