Yummy Pancakes!

Have you ever been to Paddington House of Pancakes (PHOP)? I think they have a few branches: The Curve, Hartamas and One Utama. My BFF Win, J and I went to the one in One Utama for lunch yesterday and boy we had the most marvellous lunch! It was close to perfection! Yummmyyyy...

Win and J had the same thing (err, come to thing of it, they had the same thing too when we last went to La Risata...they are just meant to be in-laws). Their plates came with these - 3 pancakes, mashed potatoes (with delicious gravy), hash brown, scrambled eggs, grilled tomato and 3 chipolatas. I ordered blueberry pancakes that came with superb maple syrup (absolutely sedap), cream cheese, scrambled eggs with mushrooms with a dash of pepper, beef bacon and grilled tomato. Then after that we had this out-of-this-world dessert. They wrap chunky peanut butter and chocolate syrup in a thin layer of pancake and it was served with fresh cream and chocolate ice-cream...now tell me, doesn't that sound mouth watering?

Win even tapaued back for the others in the office. One who loves breakfast food (like me, Win and J) would definitely appreciate PHOP. Even though I would say that the price is a bit on the high side, it is really worth every Malaysian Sen. I will definitely go there again. There are like 99 other things on the menu that I would love to try ;).

Actually this photo doesn't do justice to the actual thing. It tasted way better than the way it looks! Yum2!

Munira's First Primary Sports Day and Etcetera

Saturday, April 14 was Munira's Sports Day and she was extremely excited about the whole thing. We got up as early as 6:30am as she didn't want to be late. She even refused to have breakfast before we left the house as she was just too nervous :).

This year, Munira took part in two events: The March Past and her class event, Lompat Adik Lompat - which her team emerged as the champion - hooray for Rumah Merah. As for the overall results, her Rumah Merah only managed to come in 3rd. At least, not the last hehe.

M for Munira, hip hip hooray!

Oh yeah, after watching Jangan Pandang Belakang the other day, Naz bought Muzafar a pair of Crocs. They are in my favorite color - lime green and of course, they match a few of Muzafar's outfits. Couldn't help but to snap a photo of the Crocs. The color is just so bright and beautiful :)!

That night (yes, I had missed AF5's 5th concert), my colleagues and I went to our company's Masquerade Ball. Naz didn't come as it was supposed to be Only Girls Nite Out, hehe. I thought about Naz (who was too busy watching soccer)and the kids but I had one helluva great time, thanks to the bestest colleagues anyone could wish for. I feel really blessed to have them. Work pressure and stress at the office are always tolerable because of them, really...:)

The top that I wore - what do you think?

Pretty? Scary? or pretty scary, hehe...

Kyle XY, the First Season has Ended...*Sob

I can't believe this. I didn't realize that last week's episode was the last for the first season. I think am having withdrawal symptoms already, haha. I don't know why I'm so drawn to watch Kyle XY. I did not miss a single episode infact I look forward to Thursdays because of Kyle XY, hehe.

All the cast members of Kyle XY are relatively new to me and Matt Dallas (Kyle), well, he is not just new but he is something else. I think he is the prettiest boy I have ever seen (Abang jangan jeles ok, abang paling handsome...hehe).

What can I say, I can't wait for the second season! Amigos, you should watch too you know...you might find Kyle XY as interesting or even more than Heroes :P!

Jangan Pandang Belakanggg...

Naz and I went to watch the latest malay horror movie - Jangan Pandang Belakang last night. Since Naz couldn't book the tickets online, by the time we got to the cinema, there were only two rows left and obviously, the two extreme front rows. Darn...nevertheless, I was still very excited. Infact, I have been excited about the movie since the day the stuntman of that movie passed on during the filming of the movie while doing one of the stunts. It was a tragic accident, poor thing. Hold on, let me get one thing straight, the excitement didn't start because of the death of the stuntman but that was how I got to know about the movie...Saw a bit of the snippet from the news and it looked quite fascinating...

Back to the movie, was it scary? Yes, tiniest bit...However, it was a very interesting movie but not the kind that would make you want to pee in your pants. (the leading actress - unfortunately, quite kaku and unnatural la, sorry :()
Worst thing was that the mood (you know - the kind that has your adrenalin rushing through your veins) dissapeared quickly. Many people were talking in the cinema la and so, I had lost my focus from the beginning. One guy even answered his mobile phone and talked loudly for heck of a long time - everybody was going shhh,shhh,shhh...The guy next to Naz was telling his friend about the movie - as in what was going to happen next (why on earth), I guess he had seen the movie already (duhhh).

The movie has a touch of humour here and there which was fun in a way but I didn't expect to laugh as much. Actually I laughed more because of the audience and not so much because of the movie. There were so many memeranjatkan scenes, you know, pontianak coming out from no where. Many people got the shock of their lifes and started melatahing...the ones I heard clearly yesterday (across the room) were opocot(s) and mak engkau(s)and everytime someone termelatah, everyone surrounding that someone, started laughing and I pun laughed too...you just have to be there, farney largh...Put it this way, I laughed more during this movie then when watching scenario, hehehe.

Anyway, in this movie the hantu was always waving his/her hands vigorously to probably look scary. Why? I dont' see that in other horror movies and they can be scarier. I guess, it is not fair for me to be comparing our local horror movies with the others e.g. exorcist, Ju-on etc. No doubt Jangan Pandang Belakang is the best Malay Horror Movie I have ever watched so far and I'm definitely recommending my friends to watch but as for my personal rating...I am only giving it a 3/5 (jangan mara aaa...)

Wonderful Sunday

On Saturday April 7, while Munira was at ballet class and I was at work, Muzafar fell and now has a bump on his head - right at the center of his forehead and looked a bit bluish. When we came home, he started telling us what happened in his very own language and we felt really sorry for him. My poor baby...Soon after that, Naz started calling him Ultraman Taro - so bad but I started calling him that too...hehe!

Let's talk a bit about Akademi Fantasia's 4th Concert. They decided to give Ebi AF5 a make over (macam depa denga pulak my previous entry about Ebi) but sadly, they didn't give him a haircut but probably just a trim. Nevertheless, that boy looks neater after the make over. Performance wise, I think everyone did ok2 jer but Aizat should be given a pat on the back and Mila, that gurl has shown a lot of improvement - voice and showmanship. Infact, I think she's getting better every single week. Nuff said.

As for yesterday, I had a busy day. With the kids of course. First, it was the morning trip to KLCC Park. Then in the evening, another trip to the park and this time, Tasik Titiwangsa pulak. Unfortunately, it started to rain at about 6pm so we had to leave after what, half an hour? Anyway, it was a fun day for the kids. Here, pictures always speak louder than words..

Check out the Ultraman Taro bump!

Oh ya, I decided to cook spaghetti bolognaise (Hot Gucci Mama Style, haha) for lunch as Munira had requested for it last week. Naz was kind enough to help me with the Garlic Bread and they were delicious eventhough a bit burnt at the top hehe - Thanks Abang. Anyway, Naz had two servings (or was it three?) and Munira had two (hilang penat Ibu masak). Both of them love spaghetti bolognaise especially with fresh sweet basil leaves and angel hair spaghetti. Here's what it looks like. Of course it doesn't look like the original bolognaise sauce because it is very Malaysianized but it is how they like it. Bon appétit! :).

The Weigh I Was and Am...

Yesterday, my BFF Win, J an I had a craving for Italian food so we decided to dine at La Risata in Medan Damansara for lunch. Everything we ordered tasted great especially my baked eggplant lasagna. Win and J ordered the same thing - macaroni and cheese but it turned out to be very dissapointing - it was more like macaroni in steamed milk - ouuch! I took a bite and couldn't taste the cheese at all, in fact it tasted totally flat! Win added loads of chili powder and J added crushed olives and salt but somehow neither helped so they didn't finish. To make up for the dissatisfaction, they ordered dessert afterwards - J ordered caramel pudding and Win ordered this moist dark chocolate cake with hot chocolate fudge and vanilla ice-cream. Their desserts looked pretty good and according to Win and J, tasted all right. I was darn tempted but I was telling my body and mind that I didn't need the extra sugar. So I didn't take a single bite, am so proud of myself!

Anyway, the following morning, I just couldn't believe it. Once again after about 7 years, I weigh 60 something. Can you imagine, I eat as per usual once a day (and once in a while I do indulge in chocolates and cakes) but thanks to Herbalife, I have been and still loosing weight. Amigos, this is not a promo but just sharing la :). I actually contemplated on whether I should blog about anything related to my weight but hey, I feel on top of the world right now and feel like telling the whole world that Herbalife works!

Hemm...posting my before photos here would be way too embarassing but here are the reasons why I should be loosing more weight and should have a healthier lifestyle. I want to grow old and healthy with them...

Akademi Fantasia 5 - 3rd Concert

April 1 - Since Naz and I sort of knew that it was going to rain again in the evening, which would mean another Sunday without going to the park for the kids, we took them to McDonald's for an early lunch. Trips to McDs are always fun for them because of the playground and of course for the Happy Meals - the toys really and not so much for the food.

I was really looking forward to Akademi Fantasia 5's 3rd concert. Majority of them did a great job at the 2nd concert and I was hoping that they would do better this time. Unfortunately I was wrong. I was stitching while watching (more like listening) and only a few of them made me look up from my stitching. Man said that he slept half way - that shows how boring it was. Anyway, I would say, Mila did pretty well - as I could feel her emotions. Candy made my hair stand. As for the guys, I think Ebi deserves a praise. Haha talking about Ebi, I can't believe Man said he looks 'smelly'. I thinks it's probably because of his hair. He sure needs a more decent haircut. As for Dafi, no doubt he's adorable and all but as a performer/entertainer, is he really?

Almost everyone is hoping that this time around, one of the girls will become the new Champion. Even the previous champions are hoping so in one of the interviews I saw on Astro. Honestly, I don't think this year would be any different from the previous years. You see, majority of the voters out there are women and women tend to vote for the opposite gender. Therefore, one of the boys is going to be the Juara again. I hope I am wrong but let's just wait and see.

Oh by the way, Naz and I checked out the votes yesterday and Ebi is right at the top. So good for that chap! Hope he does better in the next concert!

Friends Forever

Last night Muzafar had a bit of temperature. As usual bila depa demam, I can't really sleep. Worried that his temperature may go too high without us realizing. One thing about Muzafar, his sleep and appetite never seem to be affected when he is not well, so senang la Ibu sikit. Anyway, this morning, Naz and I took him and Munira to Pusrawi for a check up. Munira is also catching a flu. They slept in the evening and since they were much better, we went ahead with our plan to go out for dinner with my long time buddies, Man, Fira and Lan.

I had known Fira since we were 13. We were not that close back then but in 1990, we sat almost next to each other in class and we have been close friends ever since.

As for Man, I think fate had brought us together. Fira and I were working part time back in December 1992 for the 'Ikhlas Tapi Jauh Concert', and Man happened to just be there one day at the Merdeka Stadium. Man was introduced to us as Sheila Majid's 'fan'atic. We started talking and the rest is history.

Throughout my whole lifetime, I am blessed with many good friends but unfortunately due to work and family commitments, I am left with only a few that I am still in contact with. Most of the time I blame myself for not taking the effort to keep in touch but when you have a family of your own and a full time job, it can be really difficult. However, with Man and Fira, I am so thankful that they have not given up on me. If it is not for their efforts, I am sure we wouldn't have managed to maintain this friendship. Thank you you two...emmuaahhh! ❤❤❤

Anyway, after many phone calls and sms(s), Man, Fira, Lan, Naz, myself and the kids, finally managed to meet up last night. The occasion was to celebrate Man's new job. We had dinner at the La La Chong Seafood Restaurant, Terminal 3, Subang. Even though Muzafar was a bit moody, we still had a pleasant dinner. It was quite obvious that Naz enjoyed his meal. What can I say, it was good food! One should definitely try La La Chong's Crab in Tomato Eggy Sauce with Steamed or Fried Pau. Two thumbs up...Thanks Man 😘!

What a pose - Munira & Muzafar
