Jack Sparrow, my sissy hero...

Pirates of the Carribean 3 - I really can't remember when was the last time I had seen a movie without Naz but yesterday, I went to watch the long awaited POTC 3 with my beloved colleagues - Win, Pat, J, Cin, Cora, Serena, Joal, John, and Farah. They were 10 and we took almost the whole row of seats. Honestly, I had such a great time especially after a long stressful day at work! We had dinner at the All Stars Sports Cafe and the food was not bad at all. The soft shell crabs and the spring rolls are highly recommended. Super duper yummy!

After seeing the movie, I feel that POTC 3 is just not as great as the first one. Having said that, the chance to see Jack Sparrow again on the big screen was still priceless. I remember watching the first POTC and it was mostly about Jack. Which was totally fine with me as I adore Jack's character. But now, other characters have become increasingly famous (like Keira and Orlando) and have been so many more scenes. So other words, I didn't really get enough of Jack Sparrow a.k.a. Johnny Depp. Sighhh...:)

May 23...

Happy Anniversary Abang! No, it is not our wedding anniversary today but May 23 is a very special day for me and Naz. May 23, 1997 Naz asked me whether we could be more than friends and I obviously said yes. May 23, 1999 we got officially engaged. So May 23, marks two of the most important events in my life...

Abang, I just want to thank you for being such a good friend all these years. Thank you for being there for me all the time and last but not least, thank you for being you...If it is not because of you, May 23 would be meaningless to me...Je Taime Abang!

Say Cheese!

Just to share this photo with everyone out there. Whenever I feel down or tired at work, I look at this and I will instantly smile and feel better. Not because he is Muzafar, but because of his smile. It is just very contagious! Hehe...

Akademi Fantasia 5 has ended...*sob

Bravo to Mila. First woman to become the champion of Akademi Fantasia and for the very first time, I feel that the champion, is the person who deserves to be the champion. Ebi, came in second which is not bad at all. He still went home with Toyoto Vios, cool! I am bit sad though that Candy didn't get third place as I think that she deserves it more than Aswad. As for Aznil Haji Nawawi, I can't believe he would not be the MC of AF anymore, I bet Astro would have a hard time finding someone half as talented, funny and smart as Aznil. AF 5's final concert was like the last concert of Akademi Fantasia. Like a closure after 5 years. All previous students were invited, as if Astro is not planning to have it again next year. Whatever it is, have it or not in the future, it would not be the same without Aznil Haji Nawawi. He is just awesome!

Old Town Kopitiam
Sunday morning, Naz and I thought of having only roti bakar for breakfast as we were going to cook something heavy for lunch. We now have an Old Town Kopitiam in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng which was opened recently. It is only about 5 minutes away from where we're staying so we went there after paying our car loan just across the road. We have been to quite a number of kopitiams before but Old Town, is simply by far the best! Munira ordered Nasi Lemak (I tried a bit but it was just OK-OK jer so I guess it's not one of their strengths). In the end, she didn't finish her rice but instead ate a set of those yummy kaya and butter toast (just imagine kaya and butter oozing out from perfectly toasted breads), so did Muzafar. I had French Toast - 3 slices of bread - with peanut butter in between - served with honey - awesomely delicious! Naz had to order extra kaya and butter toast as the kids finished his. Naz and I ordered white coffee which had such a strong aroma and tasted so good that we ended up buying a box home.

Oh ya, need to mention that the interior of this place is also superb. The toilets have two fans, super clean and extremely comfy. Impressive la! We have all agreed (including the kids) that we are definitely coming again, at least once a month. Certainly worth the RM :)

Sunday Meal - Chicken Rice
Anyway, I wanted to cook but wanted to cook something simple so ended up cooking Chicken Rice. The only difference with all the other chicken rice that I've ever prepared before is that this time, I used the 5 spices to marinate the chicken. Naz loved it so much! But then again, Naz is biased, he loves everything that I cook (because I don't do it that often, hehe)

The roasted chicken with 5 spices

Naz wanted Pai Tee, I didn't know how to make the casing, so used wantan skin instead, bole la!

Munira's First Day Wearing a Tie
This is the first time Munira has ever worn a tie in her life. Doesn't she look all professional and neat? Well, she was recently appointed by the class teacher to be the assistant to the class monitor and from now onwards, she would be required to wear a tie to school. Waaa...we are very proud of our lil angel and we feel very honoured. We hope that this new responsibility will give her a good opportunity to increase her confidence level as well as to help develop her leadership and social skills :).

Muzafar and Last Weekend...

I found Muzafar arranging his cars in a straight line yesterday and I thought it was so cute. Naz teased him by moving one of the cars to face the other direction and he screamed and immeadiately put it back in a straight line.

Hem...do I see O.C.D. developing here? Hehe.

Just making sure that each and every car is 0.52 cm away from each other...hehe.

Latest Novel – Pesanan Terakhir Seorang Lelaki by Norhayati Berahim
Naz got this novel from his brother, Jam. Normally, Naz will take his own sweet time to finish a novel but this time, he was constantly reading and was so eager to find out what was going to happen next in the story. At first, I refused to start as I know once I start, I wouldn't be able to put the book down until I am done. Aiyaa, couldn’t resist the temptation la...Since Naz kept recommending me to read, I started on Tuesday last week and finally finished it last Friday. I have to admit, it was a good book. Of course, it has a happy ending...I loike :).
Sesiapa yang tengah boring, bacalah...Takkan menyesal!

Akademi Fantasia 5 – 9th Concert
I personally think that this was the best concert for this season. I really enjoyed the duet between Ebi and Mila (my two favs). They looked super romantic – as if there is something romantic going between them. The exchanging of microphones, was a brilliant act – added spice to the whole plot. I was telling Naz, Aswad would be leaving that night so that there will be 3 girls in the finals for a change. Sadly, Shawal was the one got voted out and Aswad stayed. Nevertheless, 3 gals in the finals. Hooray!

Ebi straightened his hair for this concert and he looked very handsome. His performance was also excellent. Mila as usual, did remarkably well. This gal will go far! I really hope Mila will be the champion this year!!!

Munira’s New Table
Naz and I thought that it was time for Munira to have her very own study table as she has grown a lot over the year and getting too tall for her old table. So we went to Carrefour yesterday and bought her this D.I.Y. table for RM59.90. I really love and enjoy D.I.Y.s. In fact, whenever we purchase a D.I.Y. furniture, I am the one who gets really excited and be the one putting the items together. It gives me great satisfaction and pleasure when all these little parts are put together and become something functional...hehe, small joys of life.

From this...

To this...

Didn't cook anything this weekend but managed to fry this for breakfast on Sunday. Naz and the kids love Fried Meehoon. I do too actually...especially with shredded carrots.

The 'L' Word

L, what comes to mind? Love, Lavish, Lavender, Lassie (hehe), Lace (wooohu), Lust (ehem), Ladybird, Luck and then, there's the 'L' word...

Win warned me that it is not suitable for children. So last night, I waited until the kids were asleep and I started with the first two episodes of the first season and boy, I am not sure whether it is even suitable for adults (hehe just kidding)! Anyway, I found The L Word to be...:
1. quite shocking
2. eye opening
3. mind opening
4. sizzling hot and
5. Interesting (capital 'I')

I am definitely watching some more tonight. I have also started watching Ugly Betty. Will talk about it later. There are so many interesting shows on TV right now. There are also Manja Lara , Natasha 2 and Emil Emilda (it is a bit too dramatic, but I am still watching it hehe) on TV3. I am getting bussier every day! I loike...

The gals from season 4 of The L Word...sizzzz!

Happy Birthday Eed...

Yikes, it was Eed's birthday yesterday (May 5) and I really wanted to write about her but was somehow got too occupied with the kids.

Anyway, I met Eed in 1995 during our college days so that means we have been friends for about 12 years now. How time flies! Eed is another friend that has been there for me through laughter and even through tears. We had so much fun together as teenagers, didn't we Eed. Anyway, I will remember all our good times together for as long as I live and I know for sure that we will be friends sampai ke anak cucu! Thanks Eed for being such a wonderful friend. I love you...

And of course, happy birthday to Dr Joal too (May 6) whose presence here at the department, brings nothing but joy and happiness! We have known you for only about half a year now but it seems longer and We love you...

For lunch yesterday, Naz, Kak Jah, myself and the kids went to Bukit Bintang Plaza for Shakey's buffet. The price per person has gone up but the quality of food has gone down. The mashed potatoes were very dry at the top, the gravy was watery and tasteless. The lasagna was dry too and wasn't as good as before. The 3 different types of pasta sauces were just OK but thank goodness the pizzas and fried chickens were quite good. Just put it this way, it will be very long from now before I ever crave to go there again. Hemm...

In the evening after lunch, Naz and I took the kids to Tasik Titiwangsa to play a bit of soccer and for Munira to practise her roller blading. Muzafar wasn't feeling really well as he started coughing and coming down with a flu since Friday. However, that did not stop him from enjoying himself at the park...

She's getting better at this...

Future Michael Jordan?

Or future David Beckham? Which Naz would loike, hehe

Akademi Fantasia 5 - 8th Concert
Yesterday, Dafi finally left for good. Finally. Bukan apa, he has the whole package and all but somehow is just not good enough to be the champion. Mila and Candy as usual did their best, dapat 4 lampu biru tu :). I thought Ebi did OK too, in fact his vocal was a lot better this week but too bad, did not perform good enough to impress Ogy and Hattan. Shawal, fuiyoo..his manly voice has never once dissapointed me, he's simply an all rounder! As for Aswad, I was impressed - for the first time. Never thought that he could/should survive until this week but he did really well yesterday.

Today, Naz wanted to have home cooked lunch so Naz and I went to the Chow Kit Wet Market to buy some meat and vegetables. Could not believe I had to pay about RM4 for the red chillies. Anyway, I really didn't know what to cook but came out with these (refer to the photo). Naz loves colorful rice like Nasi Minyak, Nasi Hujan Panas, Nasi Dagang etc. So I decided to prepare my own version of Nasi Tumis Hujan Panas but without coconut milk or susu cair - too fattening la. As for the dishes to go with the rice, I cookedAyam Masak Merah but with red chillis instead of dried chillies. My first time using fresh chillies but it turned out to be better. Then I tried to make Daging Tumbuk Dendeng which Naz liked very much. Except, next time I should use Kicap Manis rather than Kicap Masin. Then of course, fancy rice should always be served with Acar Timun, baru la cukup syarat...hehe. Sesiapa nak resipi, do email me.

After lunch, we took Muzafar to Pusrawi to get more medicine. Everytime we make a trip to the clinic to check on Muzafar, I get really nervous. Let me share with you why...

You see, before January this year, Muzafar was said to be asthmatic and most of the time, would be put on a nebulizer and he really hated it. He would be screaming and crying and sweating every single time. As a mother, I would feel really horrible to see him in that misery, my poor baby and worst of all, we had to visit the clinic almost as often as the supermarket as many types of food would trigger his allergy. I had many, I mean MANY sleepless nights. He would sleep but he would be wheezing and there was nothing I could do except to make sure that he had taken all his medicine. So one day in January this year, one doctor suggested that we should start him on an inhaler - twice a day. I asked the doctor whether there was going to be any side effect, and he said no. Feeling a bit reluctant, we made an appointment to see a pediatrician. The pediatrician confirmed that Muzafar was asthmatic and confirmed that there isn't any side effect if he uses the inhaler daily, so he presribed one for Muzafar.

Know what, that was one of the most wonderful days of our lives as there was hope that Muzafar would never have to go through the misery of being put on the nebulizer ever again, well at least not as often as before. Syukur Alhamdulillah, thank God, it will be exactly 4 months this Wednesday since Muzafar's last trip to the clinic because of his allergic reaction. When we went just now, the doctor didn't mention anything about his lungs, and that, was silent music to our ears...

It is said to be more effective if it is used with an aerochamber (the yellow tube) as it ensures that toddlers inhale the gas properly

Oh by the way, we found this when we came back from work last Thursday. Muzafar's very first wall masterpiece! When we asked him why did he draw on the wall, with a wide smile he happily said that he had drawn Ayah...hehe.

Antara cerita-cerita menarik...

I have not written for quite some time. Been really busy with work. Nevertheless, there are few things that I wish to share:

C.S.I (Las Vegas) Season 7 - Leaving Las Vegas
I have to admit that this is the best season ever! They have a brilliant serial killer on the loose (which they do not know yet - as they thought that he had died) and as someone who loves miniatures, I am very, very fascinated with the miniature replicas (which are all perfectly 1 1/2 inch scale) of the actual murder scenes. These replicas were left at the crime scenes for Grissom.

The last episode had Grissom leaving for sabbatical. Quite sad as Grissom will be away for at least four episodes. C.S.I Vegas akan hilang penyerinya for a while. Oh by the way, in the previous episodes, this brilliant killer would normally leave the replicas after the murders had already been committed kan but that day when Grissom had already left his office for his sabbatical, a package arrived for him and it was a replica of a murder scene that has not actually taken place yet! O-oh...It is getting more interesting!

I feel that I should also mention that I am very supportive of Grissom's relationship with Sara Sidle and it was very dissapointing when Grissom only said 'I'll miss you' to Sarah before he left. I was really hoping for at least a hug, but then again they were at work when Grissom left and knowing Grissom, he wouldn't do anything more...*sigh. Nyways, I think Grissom is cool and seksei :)!
Gill Grissom and Sara Sidle. Don't they look good together? Yes they do!

Akademi Fantasia 5 - 7th Concert
Alahai, I really did not expect Aizat to be out this soon. He was one of the best, even though a bit the action. I would have thought that it was time for Aswad to leave but then, right at the end of the concert when they announced that Aswad was an orphan, I knew that he was going to stay and would get all the sympathy votes. True enough, his votes went all the way up to 26%. Poor Aizat and I guess, lucky for Aswad!

May is finally here...

Yea...I am on half load from now onwards. That means, I am only working from Tuesday to Thursday and that simply means, I have now more time with the kids and for myself. I hope to exercise more, cook more, bake more, interact with the kids more, read more, meet up with friends more, and many more. Hehe...Am not sure when this arrangement will be until but will enjoy it to the max! I have been working very hard since December 1997 so I deserve this break!

Brand New Kitchen
Hehe, my sister just renovated her kitchen and boy it's one helluva huge kitchen. All the works man! It is not 100% done yet as she is still waiting for the cabinets. Naz and I would only be able to afford something like that say about 10 years from now. I am so happy for my sis Honey (at the same time envious...hehe). She finallly made her dreams come true, you go girl (masak jangan tak masak)!

Look, an island and all...wow!

Check out her new backyard, cool eah?
