Cross-stitch Books...

I was looking high and low for a good cross stitch book for quite some time. I went to Kinokuniya, MPH, Berita Bookstore but either they were too expensive or the designs were just not attractive enough for me.

Two weeks ago we took the kids to Jusco Seremban and when Naz went for his prayers, I was walking around in Popular Bookstore with the kids and guess what I found? These two beautiful, perfect and cheap cross stitch books (one was less than RM15 and the one was about RM24)! I am extremely thrilled to have found these two books. I was so excited that I started with a project almost immediately. In fact, I am almost done with it, woohoo!

More on my cooking...

Naz wanted to have nasi minyak last weekend so we had all these on Saturday in Mantin. Nasi Minyak is one of my favourite food of all time. When we go back to Besut, I will normally look for nasi minyak with gulai ayam for breakfast and it's extremely cheap there. A packet is about RM1 but of course the portion is normally very small. Yes, people in Besut and Kelantan usually have rice for breakfast. Really would not do any good to those yang jaga body but once a year is definitely OK kan...:)

Ayam Masak Merah Johor

Acar Timun

Dal Sayur with Daging
Tetel

Last but not least, we had onde-onde gula melaka for dessert! Yum3...

Experimental Cooking Continues...

I wanted to be a little more adventurous with herbs yesterday cause I was suddenly so jelak with rice and dishes with coconut milk.

So I opened up this recipe book and selected a few from different countries. Let's go international, I thought! I have to admit that I was a bit over ambitious at first cause I was initially going to prepare four items plus dessert. Unfortunately by 6:30pm, I was already exhausted to the max! So I didn't get to prepare Naz's favourite caesar Salad (yum yum) but for his sake, will prepare that today instead hehe.

Anyway, these were the things that I managed to prepare:

French Style-Pot Roast Chicken (with a sprinkle of rosemary, thymes, basil sprigs and bay leaves). Sadly, my oven is a very cheap oven and does not roast very well so the chicken was only crispy at the top whereas it was supposed to be brown all over. The tiny bits on top of the chicken were actually pieces of salami and smoked chicken fried with large onions in olive oil! Even though it may not look that appealing but you know what, it was actually quite tasty! I really love the aroma and the herbs. Superb!

Spanish Chili Potatoes

Mediterranean Garlic Toast with Salami (Munira's favourite)

Ramadan yang dinanti-nanti...

Syukur ALhmadulillah, Ramadan has arrived again...Selamat berpuasa my fellow Muslims...

I am extremely happy to share that Munira managed to fast the whole day yesterday. Last year, she didn't miss a single day of sahur but still puasa yang yang yok...balik kidergarten terus bukak periuk hehe...but this year, she was very excited and determined to fast the whole day. In fact, everytime I was doing my puasa ganti, she was so sibuk to puasa as well but I told her to wait until Ramadan. So I hope, she will be able to fast for the whole month, Insya-Allah...

Oh ya...the Raya Catalog is finally out! Check it out...Az said Munira looked tired. Well she was because the shoot was right after school! Tak pe la...it's just her first job (macam la ada lain hehe...we'll see). Nevertheless, her first pay check was bigger than my first pay check and I was like what, 17 at that time? Children nowadays...so lucky kan...

Check it out...

One more of Marian Keyes

Just completed this one and it was about Rachel, one of the five (not so normal)sisters. A drug addict who got better after enrolling herself in one of the most famous rehabilitation center. It was funny to see how someone can be in such a denial even when she almost died of OD. Anyway, it was a good read...:)

Shop till I almost dropped!

So much that I would really love to shop for my children everyday, my bank account does not allow it. However, SOGO sent me a notification last week announcing their Card Member Sale on September 7th and 8th. So happen that I was on leave on Friday, I went to look and see.

The sale was really great! Discounts up to 70%. So I took the opportunity to buy Raya clothes for the children. I told myself that I should not go anywhere near anything less than 70% cause what's the point of going to a Member's Day if you don't grab all the ones on 70% (so I didn't).

It was such a wonderful experience going by myself as I didn't have to worry about the children getting exhausted or lost among the crowd. I didn't have to keep looking back for Naz in case he gets lost in the crowd too. And being quite obsessive over children's clothing, since I was alone, I spent almost 5 hours in SOGO that day. I took and returned and took and returned, quite a number of baju in the process of selecting the final ones. I always have the tendency to do that but normally with Naz around, I wouldn't be able to cause I hate to see him waiting for so long.

So after the half an hour que, and sitting by the escalator to fold and to choose the best ones, I finally bought all of these and mind you, they are all 70% off and nothing less! Waaa...I am so proud of myself! The grand total that I managed to save is RM865.66!!!

Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary to me and Naz...

Hehehe...today is our 8th Wedding Anniversary! How time flies! It was just like a year or two ago that we started emailing, snail mailing, calling and sms-ing each other and the next minute, we are already married with two children! Wowww...

A lil history on our relationship - I got to know Naz back in October 1996 through a mutual friend. When we first met, romance was not at all on my mind as I was 21 and was just too busy exploring many, many new things in life. We didn't even have that many things in common, in fact we had one very obvious differences - I was chatty and he was as quiet as a mouse. Well they say, opposites attract and we also felt very comfortable with each other. So that was it, friendship progressed into something else in just a matter of few months! I feel that the best thing about my relationship with Naz is that no matter how long we have been together, I can still talk and confide in him as a friend and I am extremely grateful for that. I guess, we're just fated to be together and I really thank God for blessing me with such a superb life partner!!!

Happy Anniversary Mr Naz! Je Taime....
