Proud Owners of Ferrari(s)

Yes, they don't just own one. They have SIX! Men and cars. About a month or two ago, Shell was selling these red Ferrari(s) for RM9.90 (if I'm not mistaken) each and Naz had never been more excited about pumping in petrol. See what cars can do to men, even miniatures! Well Naz claimed that he was collecting them for Muzafar, hemmm...yea rite! Anyway...

At first, Naz refused to take the cars out of their boxes but somehow, he finally succumbed to Muzafar's persuassion. So here they are, beautifully parked on our television...

PS. I love you...by Cecilia Ahern

I just finished this sad but interesting novel written by Irish Prime Minister's daughter, Cecilia Ahern. It is all about a young woman's struggle to move on with her life after the loss of her dear husband (best friend and soulmate) to cancer. Oh, before the husband died, he left her 10 envelopes (one, to be opened every month when he's gone). The contents of the envelopes were supposed to help her get back on her feet and continue living her life without him and they did help her to a certain extent. However, I personally thought that they made it even harder for her to let go knowing that she had lost someone so thoughtful and romantic...

Many who have read the book would probably be annoyed with the fact that the grieving wife was just taking too long to get over the loss but for me, I so could totally imagine myself in her shoes, dealing with all those memories, sadness and despair. Thus, I cried more than ten times and constantly had tears in my eyes in the process of reaching the end which, took me less than two days...(thanks to my pms, my sensitivity level was just waayy up there).

Overall, it is a lovely book. Creatively written. It's sad and funny at the same time. Higly recommended. Thanks Serena, I'm definitely going to read more of her books.

Since Thursday...

Munira's right front tooth had fallen out during recess at school today! At first she didn't want to show her missing tooth and smile for the camera but after much persuasion, I managed to capture this which was right after her ballet concert rehearsal.

Happy Birthday Fira!!! We've been friends for what, 17 years already? Wow! Anyway, I love you with all my heart and thanks for everything!

Saturday, July 21
Munira took part again in this year's Federal Academy of Ballet Concert at the Dewan Sivik, PJ. I think her dance was called 'The Pink Dollies', which was choreographed by her talented teacher Ms Yap. Doesn't she look like a doll in theses photos? The ones below in the red cheongsam outfit were during last year's concert.

I cooked a bit and baked this Strawberry Jam Sandwich Cake. This dish is called 'Telur bersalut ayam dengan sayuran' which I got from Chef Wan's 'Sedapnyaaa' Recipe Book.

Oh yes, Munira got a haircut. She's been complaining a lot lately about how hot it was in school especially with the long hair so Naz and I finally brought her to the saloon. I was quite sad though to see her hair bertaburan on the floor that day...:(

Happy Birthday Dear Naz!

Yes, it is Naz's 32nd birthday today and he doesn't look like he's aged even a bit (please remember, beauty is the eye of the beholder hehe). Abang, I may not have the money to buy you a land or even the Toyoto Wish that you've always wanted but you can count on me for eternal love and friendship. Believe me when I say, you are one in billions and I am extremely lucky to have you. You're the best thing that has ever happend to me. I hope you'll get everything that you wish for in life! I love you and Happy Birthday!!!

Muzafar can now float!

We went back to Mantin for the weekend and another milestone for Muzafar this week. He can now float without our help! Naz was holding him all along that day until one point Naz just decided to let him go (I got worried sick!) and suddenly, to our amazement, he was floating and started paddling his feet and hands to reach to the side of the pool. Wow! Of course in the process of acquiring this new skill, I think he had swallowed almost a gallon of pool water...hehe.

Hey, he's floating!

Die Hard Fan of Liz Claiborne?

Naz and I finally had the chance to watch Die Hard 4.0 last Wednesday. It was, just like the previous three: action packed and super tensed (almost right from the start!). Unfortunately, for someone who can be quite clueless when it comes to I.T., this particular sequel was really quite hard for me to follow. Too many technical terms which were just too complicated and unheard off at my level of savvy-ness. Hehe…

Now, come the topic that I like aaa lot. Handbags! There are just so many labels that I have my eyes on (just the eyes and NOT the bank account!). Right at the top of the list is of course the super duper expensive, Louis Vuitton. Sadly, there are so many imitation ones out there that it is getting harder to differentiate between the original and the not.

Getting back into reality and speaking of affordability, I was a regular Bonia carrier. Recently I needed a new handbag and was considering another Bonia when a friend of mine, Dr Ng went to the U.S. and she bought me a Liz Claiborne handbag! Don’t be envious ladies as she got it at USD24.99 which is approximately RM90/-!!! It’s no LV but it’s an original LC! Apparently, if you go to the right outlets in the US, you would be able to get MANY branded handbags/purses for as low as USD15. I have never been to the US but if I ever do one day, I will probably come home with dozens of handbags (Fendi, Aigner, Coach, Channel and the list goes on) and ended up with a ridiculous balance in my credit card statement!

Here’s my latest pride and glory. Isn’t she classy? May the late Liz Claiborne r.i.p.

This was a gift from one of my other colleague who also recently went to the US. She got this for approximately USD15/-.

Last but not least, Happy Birthday to Jo Gan on July 13. May all your dreams come true and thank you for being such a good friend!

Munira's First Photo Shoot

Yesterday was the busiest day of my life as a semi homemaker. I first had to go into the office in the morning for a long budget meeting (extremely boooringgg). Then I had to rush to Astor Tailor to collect Naz’s shirt (Naz was going to have a very important interview that evening after work). We had never gotten a tailor made shirt for Naz before but the ready made ones out there just do not fit him that well anymore. However, the tailored shirt turned out to be gorgeous and fitted him perfectly! And I have to admit, Naz looked pretty hot and handsome in that dark blue shirt with cufflings :).

I got home at 1pm and then had to rush Munira to her very first photo shoot! It started like this. About a month or two ago, a talent scout went to her school, came up to her and passed her a contact card. That person told her to get Naz or me to send her photos to the email address provided. So after a week or so, I did. Then nothing happened until last Thursday.

A lady by the name of Pam from the talent agency called and said, “Can someone bring Munira to Metrojaya’s Headquarters to try on a few outfits for a photo shoot on Friday?". I said no cause we were both at work and so I thought, there went Munira’s potential first job.

Then Pam called again and said, “OK, they don’t need her there as long as they can have her measurements”. Er, how on earth would I get her measurements? I couldn’t even remember where I had kept the measuring tape but I still said OK to Pam.

I called Naz to let him know what just happened and nak jadikan cerita, Naz said that he was having a meeting in KL and that he would bring Munira there. So they (Naz and Munira) went, those people saw her, asked her to try out the clothes and the clothes fitted and she was told to come back the next day for a photo shoot. Hemm...that was quite easy kan.

So at 2:15pm yesterday, Naz and I sent Munira to Sri Melayu Restaurant for her first photo shoot with 3 other models. Adult male (Fahmi), Adult female (Rowena) and Dani, a 5 year old Mat Salleh looking boy (so polite and handsome!). All the photography crew members were so nice to Munira. The models were also very friendly.

Naz had to leave as he was having a meeting at 3pm. I stayed with Munira until the shoot ended at about 5:45pm. I guess Munira had a pleasant first experience cause when I asked her whether she would ever do it again, she said yes. Thanks to the friendly photography crew and models. Can’t wait to see Metrojaya’s Raya 2007 Catalogue (I think that was what it was for la...)

Gambar curi...hehe

Studio Photos

We took Munira to a photo studio when she was about two and so we thought it would be really nice to take Muzafar to one too since he's two now. So this is how the studio photo of Muzafar turned out to be. Unfortunately, the one that I have of Munira is extremely tiny. Tried to enlarge it but with no success. Oh well, will figure out a way later.

More on Munira:
July 4 - Got third place for a passage reading competition. The prize was a black mug. She has not used any other mugs for drinking purposes ever since.

July 6 – Story Reading. Was asked by her class teacher to memorize a story entitled ‘The Lion and The Mouse’ and to tell it during the school assembly. Couldn’t complete the story as she had forgotten the last line. She froze for a while before giving the microphone back to the teacher and ran back to her classmates...poor thing, hehe.

Emil Emilda

Emil Emilda ended last Wednesday (June 27). Was hard for me that night as I wanted to watch both C.S.I and the last episode of Emil Emilda. In the end, I was glued to Emil Emilda. It had a very interesting twist/ending. The best thing, the best woman finally fell in the arms of the 'best' man - Emil a.k.a Aaron Aziz. I have never known about the existence of this, very charming and macho Singaporean actor but after Emil Emilda, I am definitely looking forward to more of his acting, classy!

I was also so glad to find out that Emilda wasn't in love with a married man and Emil didn't choose to marry Amat's mother for the sake of sympathy. Overall, Emil Emilda may seem to be a little dramatic (thanks to Zizie Ezzette) to most people but to me it was very light and entertaining. Never too emotional but explicitly romantic...;)

Aaron Aziz (az - stop drooling! Hehe!)
