Hari Raya 2010

It's hard to believe that Aidilfitri actually came and gone. It's now already October and soon the kids will be having their long school holiday...yaay!

We had a fantastic Raya with Naz's family in Mantin and then with my family in Kampung Baru. The children of course were the ones who enjoyed themselves the most. New clothes and pockets full of 'duit raya' hehe.

Anyway, just to share. Our Mantin house was broken into a few months back and the person who did it, took every single thing. Dust bins, wall decorations and even took used bathroom brushes. Put it this way, when we went back to Mantin the first time after it happened, there were echoes (like in a new empty house)! I cried my heart out for more than two weeks thinking of the loss and thinking how Raya would be this year when my in-laws come down from Besut to an empty furniture-less house. But, Allah is really great as with His blessings, my heart slowly healed and I started to realize that what's more important to enjoy an occasion like Hari Raya, is NOT so much of the materials, food etc...it is the people you are celebrating the occasion with!

So I would say that despite not eating on a proper dining table and not sitting on a comfortable sofa on the first Raya morning to enjoy all the delicious Raya dishes (rendang, nasi empet, kuah kacang, masak lodeh) and cookies, my family and I had one of the best Rayas just enjoying what we still have...each other's company :). Thanks to both our extended families for their endless love and support.

As you can see, purple is our theme this year. This photo was taken at Naz's maternal grandma's house. Love the natural surroundings and the traditional architecture of the wooden house.

Muzafar's First Full Day of Fasting

As an extremely proud mom, I would like to share with the whole world that my 5+ year old son, managed to fast from dawn until sunset yesterday (4th day of Ramadhan, 1431H/2010).

This is actually the first year he started getting up for sahur and for the first 3 days, he only managed to fast until 1-2pm.

Naz and I are heaps proud!

Anyway, latest photos of the kids taken right before Ramadhan...:)

Sudden Musings

The office is very empty and I am not complaining hehe. More than half are still away for CNY break (especially the students). I am so enjoying the peace and quiet which I know very well, will end soon! People are starting to come back tomorrow...aiyo!

Me and co. spent our CNY break in Mantin. Lovely time except that I was sneezing like mad for the first two days until I managed to get Rhinocort from one of the pharmacies in Alamanda. I am so allergic to dust and boy Mantin was so terribly dusty when we got there on Saturday. Did I ever mention Rhinocort before this? Well, it is the best nasal spray for rhinosinusitis ever! The product is truly effective and amazing :)

Since I have not been updating my blog regularly, lemme just share a bit about my babies. Nazlin Munira is now in primary 4. Such a big girl now. Getting taller and loves dressing up. Has new music interests and absolutely in love with this teen show, iCarly.

My second one and my only boy, Nazhan Muzafar is now in Kindie. He is still learning how to read and loves to test my patience in just any way he can think of. He loves to watch the Disney Channel and has now started speaking English. And when he starts speaking (in just any language), he just wouldn't stop. Believe me, he is a real chatterbox.

As for my baby, Nazira Muhaya...God she is really something. She completes us. Nothing but joy to have her with us. Her smile can simply bright up the whole room. Her laughter can help you forget your misery!

Anyway, Muhaya has just turned ONE on January 8, 2010! We had a small party for her and had some friends over to help celebrate her first birthday. She was supposed to get her one year immunization right after her birthday but she fell sick so she only got her jab last Saturday (February 13, 2010).

Back to what we did during the CNY break, the kids wanted to go for a picnic so we went to Tekala on Monday (February 15). Goodness, it was extremely crowded. There were easily a thousand people there on that day. Thank God we arrived quite early to have a small spot to spread out our picnic mat. If we were to arrive even an hour later, I'm sure we would have to fight even for a lousy, wet, slimy spot. Yucks.

Anyway, I had a good break. Looking forward for another long weekend next week. Feel like cooking something special. Hemm...have to start looking through the recipe books...

Oh, celebrated Man's birthday with Fira at Delicious Jalan Tun Razak. Happy 35th birthday darling Azman. I always and will always enjoy our gals nite out. Delicious was a good place. Nice food and beautiful ambiance. Fira's bday is next. Where shall we go?

Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary to Me and Naz!

Romantika...je t'aime Naz

I know that I have not been a good blogger. Blame it on my busy schedule at work and at home. I used to have 3 babies to take of, now I have 4 hehe. It's now almost impossible for me to find the time to consistently blog!

Anyway, no matter how busy I am, how can I NOT blog on this very day. Today marks the 10th year, Naz and I have been married! 10 years is definitely not a short period and I just want the whole world to know that after all these years, after 3 wonderful children, I still love Naz with all my heart! In fact, I love him more than ever. He has been a great husband, father and my bestest friend!

I am really lucky to have Naz in my life. I can list more than 10 reasons but the top ten reasons why I think Naz is such a great life partner are as follows:

1. He is funny and witty. (Yes my friends. He looks quiet and shy but he can be a chatterbox at home if he wants to :)

2. He is always calm and has never ever raised his voice from the very first time I met him (With the kids of course pernah laa).

3. He is extremely supportive of everything I do (Even when I am on one of my crazy diet resolutions)

4. He is very patient (He once waited for me for almost two hours in front of my office not knowing that I had already reached home. When he got home, he was not at all angry! Can you believe this???)

5. He just enjoys to be home with me and the kids. Such a family man he is.

6. He is very thoughtful. He never forgets birthdays and anniversaries.

7. He is very understanding. He knows what to say to me when I need to hear certain things.

8. He shares basically everything. We don't keep anything from each other. I would not be able to sleep if I don't tell him stuff hehe.

9. He accepts me the way I am and never expected me to be perfect.

10. Most importantly, I can tell that he loves me sincerely. Through thick (my fats) and through thin (once upon a time)...

Happy 10th Anniversary my darling Naz. I love you with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life doing just that. You are the bestest thing that has ever happened in my life (besides Krispy Kreme coming to Malaysia...hehe just kidding ;)!

Muhaya is four months today!

Yupp, our baby is no longer a new born. In fact I think she's just growing up too fast! She nows responds with a smile when her name is being called. Tries to stand as often as possible when being held and sings to herself (cocoing) when going to bed at night. She has a fixed bedtime which is about 10:30 pm and that's a major relieve to both Naz and I. She gets up only once at about 4pm for feeding. Doesn't cry unnecessarily at all! We are so blessed! :)

Looking back at my experience delivering Muhaya on January 8, 2009, that has got to be the most pleasant giving birth experience out of the three.

Yummy Beriani...

Brought the whole family out for lunch yesterday to celebrate my step mom's birthday. Wanted to try something different than western so we decided to try out Al-Rawtsa (Jalan Damai) as per my cousin's recommendation. It was pretty good. Didn't take many photos yesterday but managed to take this which was our main order!

Chicken and Lamb Beriani...Sungguh the sedap!

Munira and Muzafar with the birthday gal hehe
