Action Packed Weekend

Got up early on Saturday, bought breakfast for everyone including my in laws who are down from Besut to send Naz's youngest sister off to Sarawak. After breakfast, I started baking Red Velvet Cake to bring to Naz'z 4th brother's new place for BBQ. Once the cake was done, Naz and I accompanied my sister to Jalan Ipoh to buy tiles for her apartment (happens to be one of the places I love to go to cuci mata).

After Munira got back from school at about 4pm, we headed to Kuala Selangor. Thank God for the new highway, it's now only approximately a 1.5 hours journey.

These prawns were just waiting for Naz to arrive.
Can you spot my RVC here in this photo?
My RVC making another appearance here hehe...
It's such a pretty house. Beautifully decorated. Well done SIL!
On Sunday, Muhaya was acting up a lil bit before her ballet class. Crying for no reason. My patience and tolerance were tested. She still went in the end but was not enjoying class like usual. While Muhaya was at ballet, Nazri was with Muzafar at KL Festival City for his guitar lesson. After their classes, we went to visit Naz's colleague who has just had a baby. Awww so cute! Makes me want another one...err, after the episode with Muhaya this morning, maybe NOT. Three is fine!

Baby Cahaya..One of the latest trending names
Then in the evening, took the kids to Noah's birthday party at Decanters, Damansara. Noah is Nana's son and the cutest lil boy ever. Munira and I fell in love with him instantly! We had a great time - great company, great food, great everything. Thanks for having us Nana and family! :)

Yeay2 it's Friday but wait, I am working tomorrow :(

Do you know that I love cats? The only reason why I don't have pets at home is because I am allergic to fur. Even teddy bears. When I come in contact with fur, my eyes will start watering, my nose will start itching, and then I will go into a sneezing frenzy. Thank God I have discovered Rhinocot. It's a nasal spray that helps me control my allergy. I don't use it often, only when my nose starts itching and I don't want to lay in bed, the rest of the day, sneezing my lungs out hehe.

Anyway, the reason why I suddenly thought of cats is because a special friend of mine, Aili got me this cause she knows I love Hello Kitty. Hey, we can never be too old for this cute mouthless kitty...Oh btw, you can purchase it from Daiso!

Perfect partners - cat and mouse? Anyway check out the underwear - extremely adorable!

Dream come true...

I am not a branded person. No I  am absolutely not (Naz is so lucky!!!). However, deep in my heart I have a secret ambition to own an original Coach handbag some day. One of my best friends when to the US last month, and guess what she bought me as my early birthday present??? You will never guess and please don't be envious ok, I still think that I am dreaming. Need to pinch my cheeks over and over again to be sure that I am not. Thanks Win. I wish you would allow me to pay you back. Well, I guess I just have to find other ways to make it up to you...

Win got these for the kids. Bath & Body Works hand sanitizers
This is Muhaya's. Extra special cause it has a cover with dangling tiny ballet shoes. So cute!
These are mine. Aren't they gorgeous? I seriously don't have the heart to use them!
This is one of the many things I will do for Win for making my dream come true hehe...

Happy Anniversary to us...

We were both not at work yesterday on our 14th anniversary. Not to celebrate but because Naz was down with fever. He (the big baby) was asleep most of day and while he slept, I was busy cleaning our storeroom and decorating our newly renovated second toilet (pictures will follow...jeng3). When he finally got up in the evening, he insisted that we should still take the kids out for dinner and so we went to Madam Kwan's (KLCC).

I still can't believe that we have already been married for 14 years! Time has passed so quickly. In that 14 years, we have done and been through so many things together. I know him so much better now than I did when we met in 1997 and my impression of him gets better everyday. It never ceases to amaze me how lucky I am to have found Naz. He is everything a woman would dream of in a man (except for hair like Fabio Lanzoni lol). I would be lying if I say that we have never had problems in our marriage. Like humans, it is rare to find a perfect marriage but I am glad that we have always worked things out calmly and peacefully. Never once have we raised our voices to each other. My hope is that we will always be each other's BFF and that we will continue being each other biggest support in whatever we do. I do, I seriously love this man. Thank you Naz. Thank you for being my better half. I am a much better person today because of you...

Us - after 14 years of marriage
Them - Ours

Remember I mentioned in one of my earlier posts that I would like to be more creative and involved in home projects. Well, I have started. Here goes.

Forgot to take photos of the WC with the old tiles but these first four photos were taken when renovation was still in progress.
Eh wait, can see some of the old tiles here. Yes, the WC used to be pink.
Looks awful here!
Ceiling that has never been touched for the past 38 years

Tadaa...Our new WC (without fixtures yet). Black/White/Grey
Mr Handyman installing mirror anddd...don't know what it's called. Tempat letak berus gigi hehe...
Yeayyy, finally done!

This is where I come in...wall deco. Not fully done yet but at least I started hehe...
So, it's now 98% complete. The only item missing is a water heater (and of course more wall deco). Been hunting for one with a pump for months now. These are the stickers I got from Daiso (RM5 each). Love them, love Daiso!

Raya 2013 (sambungan...)

Been busy with just too many things since we came back from Besut on the fifth day of Raya. Got back to work on August 15 and immediately became extremely stressed out to complete next year's budget which was due on August 20. Now that all of that is done, baru bole continue with Cerita Raya 2013!

So where do I begin...hemmm, kuih raya dulu. I mentioned that I wanted to make 6 different types kan but I only managed to make two more after my last post.

Kuih Kacang Mazola

Cut out the dough with a cookie cutter
Arrange em neatly on a baking tray
Decorate em with sliced almonds
Apply egg yolk untuk tambah seri :)
Put em in the oven andd tadaa...all done!

Nestum Cookies

Make em into balls and arrange
Flatten em with a fork
Decorate em with red cherries
Buah tangan to bring back to Besut
We left to Besut after work on Monday August 12. Journey was smooth and the children were excited. They stayed awake almost the entire journey. When we reached there at about 4.00 am, it was almost time for sahur. Perfect timing. Here are some of the photos we took before raya...

Toilet break at one of the petrol stations
One of the first activities in Besut - grilling chicken to make ayam percik

Ayam Percik Putih
My hardworking man - kacau gulai kambing

This was Naz's bike when he was at PPP, Shah Alam (1990)

Naz and his brothers - projek satay
It is a tradition for the kids to wear new baju tidur the night before raya just for a lil extra excitement (their feet are clean btw in case you're wondering why they are allowed to pose on the bed like that hehe...)

Just to share, Muzafar has successfully fasted the whole of Ramadhan this year despite two asthma attacks. Actually, he has done it for 4 consecutive years already! We are such proud parents! Ok now, time for some raya photos...

Our family with my FIL and MIL...
Kami @ Us...Grey tahun ni

Honey Cornflakes - they are sweet, golden and shiny!

Chocolate Chip Cookies - feveret budak2 tu

Must, must share my latest jewellery possession with you out there hehe. A friend of mine went to India two weeks ago and I asked her to buy me silver bangles. You know the kind lovely Indian women would wear with their beautiful sarees. So, this is what she got me, and guess for how much? Less than RM20!!! I absolutely love, love, love!!!

No, I won't be wearing all of them at the same time!

A special friend's birthday...

Don't know why this post was not published earlier. It was just left there in my draft folder of my handphone...

My colleague and good friend Ai Li had celebrated her 25th birthday last month (June 5th) and since she loves my red velvet cake so much, I decided to bake her one. I didn't manage to pass it to her on her actual birthday but better late than neverrr haha...Oh, let me share a lil' bit about Ai Li...she used to be a national sailor. She still sails but only once in a blue moon. She is very organized, thoughtful and also one of the sweetest human beings I know. One more thing about her (which I can't help being envious of) is that I don't see her really controlling what she eats but she maintains a size '0'. Pfftttt! Life can be unfair sometimes teehehe...

Tadaaa...my RVC!
This is what she found on her office table waiting for her on that day hehe...
